Proud to be a
Why we became a Certified B Corporation
As a progressive legal firm that thinks proactively about law, we’ve always believed prevention is better than cure.

From day one, we’ve been in business to protect the future, so we don’t need to defend it later. It's a mission that's good for people, the planet and performance.
So when we heard about a global community of purpose-driven organisations using business as a force for good, we knew we needed to join them.
Our B Corp Certification journey took over 2 years. It was a long process that made us look deeply at how we operate and our vision for the future, but it was worth it.

We’re extremely proud to be one of the 7,500 B Corps around the world, 650 of those in Australia, unified by one common goal: to build an inclusive, equitable, and regenerative economic system.
What does our Certification mean for you?
When it comes to choosing a law firm, you want to know you’re working with a company with values that align with your own.
Our B Corp Certification symbolises our commitment to inclusivity, equity, and sustainability. It means we’re not just talking the talk, we're part of a global movement to do good in the world.
How much good? B Lab assigns Business Impact Assessment (BIA) scores for their certifications to make sure our impact is tangible, measurable, and transparent.

Our B Corp score is 82.9. For perspective, the global average is 50.9.
Behind the B Score
Our impact is measured across five impact areas.
01
Governance
Governance assesses a company's mission, social/environmental engagement, ethics, and transparency. It also evaluates how well a company protects its mission and considers stakeholders in decision-making through its corporate structure or governing documents.
02
Workers
The Workers category assesses a company's support for its employees' financial security, health, wellness, career growth, and satisfaction. It also acknowledges business models hire fairly and prioritise their team's work-life balance.
03
Community
The Community category evaluates a company's engagement and impact on its communities in operations, hiring, and sourcing. It recognises business models tackling community issues such as poverty alleviation through fair trade, microenterprises, producer cooperatives, local economic development, and charitable commitments.
04
Environment
The Environment category evaluates a company's environmental practices and impact on air, climate, water, land, and biodiversity, including operations and supply chains. It recognises environmentally innovative processes and products, such as renewable energy, waste reduction, land conservation, and environmental education.
05
Customers
The Customers category assesses a company's treatment of its customers, including product/service quality, ethical marketing, data privacy/security, and feedback mechanisms. It acknowledges products/services aimed at addressing social issues, such as health or education, serving underserved demographics, and enhancing the social impact of other businesses/organizations.
As B Corporations and leaders, we believe:
This is just the beginning
B Corp Certification isn’t the end goal for us. It’s the next step in our journey to becoming a truly regenerative business.
To maintain our status, we’ll undergo a recertification every three years to ensure we’re always meeting the high standards of social and environmental responsibility.
Each time, we’ll need to improve our BIA score and continue making decisions with a focus on the long-term impact on society and the environment.

We can't wait to share the journey with you.
